“It’s unprecedented that so many states have enacted legislation to bar public funding for Planned Parenthood,” said Tait Sye, a national spokesperson for Planned Parenthood.

Sye said the group has never been involved in this many legal battles simultaneously.

Planned Parented won one such battle Thursday when a South Dakota judge granted the group’s injunction, blocking a state abortion law from going into effect Friday. The state law would have required women seeking abortions to wait three days and receive counseling at a crisis pregnancy center that discourages abortions.

“This law represents a blatant intrusion by politicians into difficult decisions women and families sometimes need to make,” said Sarah Stoesz, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota. “We trust women and families in South Dakota to know and do what is best for them, without being coerced by the government. And we stand with them in our efforts to overturn this outrageous law.”

personhood usa has me all sorts of angry right now

Peruse the website for a minute, really, just read some of their lovely talking points.

and just to make sure you didn’t miss it, i’ve included a little tid bit from their upcoming “Child of Rape” tour. yup. this is also for real.

[ “I do hope that, as a child of rape, I can help to put a face, a voice, and a story to this issue.” Rebecca passionately defends the rights of preborn babies, and was recently quoted at a Personhood hearing as saying, “If you really care about a rape victim, you would want to protect her from the abortion, and not the baby. A baby is not the worst thing that could ever happen to a rape victim – an abortion is.”

The “Conceived in Rape” tour has four stops, beginning in Southaven today and ending in Gulfport. All are welcome to learn the truth about “exceptions” and to learn how they can participate in Amendment 26. ]

I can’t even comment on the above right now without exploding.

Let’s just put aside how ridiculous this whole Personhood USA thing is and just realllllly understand how much money, time, resources, and effort has gone into this campaign. people are funding this, people are designing the website, people are hiring lawyers, people are lobbying legislators, people are rallying. and the amount of political movement this shit is actually getting is AMAZING to me. this campaign for the UNBORN. a campaign for the potential human life form that is attached to a woman (lest we forget this!). and then lets think about all the funding cuts that are taking place in schools around the country. living, breathing, life having children that exist OUTSIDE of the womb are being FUCKED because the same people that are passing these laws think its a great idea to pull money from schools and community development programs and continue to support realllllly beneficial things like, oh..WAR and more fucking bombs and money for greedy corporate semi-failed america. yeah let’s rally to force every women to give birth every time she got pregnant, EVEN if she was raped (!), so that we could have a shit ton more children in poverty and without good education and more single mothers struggling to get by. Greattt fucking idea. but im sure the wrinkly ass white males that are making these brilliant decisions will fully understand these ramifications, and decide to alott more money to things like social welfare to help these needy mothers and living children.

so angry.

this is real. states are passing laws to support this. to give constitutional rights to the unborn fetus. WHAT?!? i pray not for the fetus, but for the women who die from unsafe, illegal abortions. the woman who is being stripped of HER constitutional rights, just because some religious shitheads want to fight for the rights of her FETUS. wtf!!!!!!
